SURVEILLANCE TRAINING

 

Tactical Surveillance Driving 

 

This course is designed for Surveillance operators who are vulnerable and under the threat of a terrorist or organized criminal attack whilst conducting surveillance operations. The training emphasizes the proactive approach to protection of the surveillance operator. Tactical Driving Training is designed to improve the car control skills of licensed drivers at any experience level. The student learns about vehicle dynamics and the importance of understanding “vehicle language”.

Tactical Surveillance Rural/Urban Close Target Reconnaissance 

 

The candidates/students will learn all aspects of conducting Rural and Urban tactical close target reconnaissance on various types of properties. This will include all aspects of Rural and Urban properties, outbuildings, warehouses, factories and vehicles.

  • Photography IR sequence camera / video 

  • Navigation

  • CTR tactics

  • Sight exploitation

  • Evidential gathering

Tactical Covert Camera Construction and Concealment 

 

This course will provide students with the understanding and skills required to plan and supervise covert camera construction and concealment.

During this course we teach students to create state-of-the-art camera systems that can be adapted to exactly match the requirements of each surveillance scenario.

Students are taught to construct these systems Studenst will be trained in facilities that comprise several different environments, where students can create and test camera concealment in realistic rural and urban settings.

  • Planning and briefing teams

  • Close target and covert plot reconnaissance

  • Constructing covert camera systems

  • Constructing concealments, including both urban and rural camouflage and hides, plus vehicle concealments

  • Managing installation of camera systems and concealments

Tactical Urban/Rural Covert Observation Posts Management 

 

This course addresses the understanding and skills necessary for comprehensive planning, construction and management of covert observation posts, in both rural and urban areas.

This course will be run in realistic rural and urban environments, such as farmland, lay-bys, woodland, derelict buildings, office blocks, hotels and high-rise flats. We will also introduce students to a novel method of utilising rural observation posts within urban settings.

 

 

COURSE CONTENT

 

  • Planning and reconnaissance

  • Construction and deployment of different types of covert observation posts, to include requirements of insertion and extraction, manning and breakdown of responsibilities

  • Routines of observations posts, ensuring correct sequencing and effective delegation

  • Satellite positions and mutually supporting posts

  • Extraction and deconstruction of observation posts

  • Requirements of unmanned cameras, including location, deployment and monitoring

  • Risk assessment and emergency procedures

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tactical Foot and Mobile Surveillance 

 

This phase will introduce Candidates/Students to the core tactical skills required to become a qualified surveillance operator. 

 

COURSE CONTENT

 

  • Plan foot and mobile surveillance, deciding best fit procedures for the given environment

  •  Control foot operations by managing communications and positioning, making risk assessments to minimise chance of detection, and ensuring appropriate intelligence gathering

  • Direct mobile operations by managing vehicle positioning, movements, threats and compromises

  •  Address foot and mobile transitional arrangements and delegate appropriately to teams

  • Understand the importance of managing surveillance in difficult situations, especially in relation to public transport systems

  • Anti and counter surveillance

Tactical Surveillance Procedures, Planning and Tactical Management 

 

This phase will introduce Candidates/Students to the necessary skills to operate and run a surveillance operation and will acquire the knowledge and skills required in planning and managing tactical surveillance procedures. This core skill provides a complete overview of covert tactical operational surveillance procedures. All subjects will be covered by instructor demonstrations, group interaction, power point instruction and theory lessons.

  • Types of observation post and their capabilities

  • Positioning and deployment procedures

  •  Assessing procedural surveillance requirements and planning appropriate foot and mobile tactics

  • Filming, commentary and evidence gathering

  •  Monitoring and control of surveillance operations

  •  Managing resources and delegating responsibilities

  • Monitoring and control of surveillance operations

  •  Role and responsibilities of a log keeper and evidential reporting

  • Explain the legal parameters that surveillance personnel have to work within

  • Understand the concepts of surveillance reconnaissance

  • Plan and control reconnaissance activities, using information technology, intelligence gathering and outcomes of close target reconnaissance
